The City of El Centro has received a Clean California Grant.

The City will receive nearly $4.8 million for a downtown project. The project is "Embellece El Centro" and will bring improvements to the Town Square in the heart of El Centro. The project proposes to beautify downtown by creating a food truck court with-in the Town Square. Additional improvements include murals, gateway signs, and curb inlet screen protectors. The State has awarded a total of $114.5 million in grants to cities and local agencies throughout the state. The funding is the latest round of grants totaling $1.2 billion to remove trash, create thousands of jobs and engage communities to revitalize public spaces.
