(CDCR Honors Employees)....It was the 38th annual Medal Of Valor Ceremony.

It was held Friday in Elk Grove. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation honored 27 employees from across California for their Bravery, service, and exemplary work conduct benefitting the department and the public. Geoff Edwards, a correctional officer at the Centinela State Prison near Seeley was awarded the Silver Star Medal. That Medal is awarded for acts of bravery under extraordinary or unusual circumstances. The Medal of Honor went to Lt. Larry Faria from Fresdno.
