An 81-year-old man lost his life in an early morning traffic accident.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred at about 5:52 a.m. Wednesday on Laguna Dam Road. The initial investigation shows that a Ford F150 pickup was northbound on Laguna Dam Road when it clipped farming equipment being towed by a southbound tractor. The pickup went out of control and collided with an SUV that was behind the tractor. The driver of the pickup, Juventino Bararjas, 81, of Yuma, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
