A car ran over a fire hydrant Sunday evening and the driver ended up in jail.

The accident occurred at about 7:50 p.m. in the area of 23rd and Vine in El Centro. The hydrant was sheared off and water flooded the area. The woman driving the car was administered a Field Sobriety Test and the booked into Imperial County Jail on charges of Driving Under the Influence. 

A short time later, a traffic stop resulted in another DUI arrest. An El Centro Police officer stopped a vehicle at 6th and Adams Avenue. The driver, a 68-year-old man, failed a Field Sobriety Test and was cited an released for Driving Under the Influence.
