(Local 9/11 memorials)...9/11 is Patriots Day.

A day to remember and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001. The terrorist attack that tumbled the World Trade Center's Twin Towers. Patriots Day celebrates the 343 firefighters and first responders who lost their lives trying to save others. Ceremonies began Saturday evening at the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds. Local Fire Department, First responders and hundreds of residents turned out for the event, that included the 10th annual stair climb. The stair climb was held on the Grandstands. Participants scaled the stairs for an equivalent of  the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. At 5 am Yuma Fire fighters and first responders participated in a stair climb at the Pancrazi Building in Yuma. A Memorial ceremony was also held at Imperial Valley College at 8:40 Monday morning.
