(ICSO posts rescue on social media)....It was a dramatic early morning rescue.

Imperial County Sheriff's Office say the rescue was caught on the body cam of a Deputy on patrol out of the Salton City Substation. Earlier this month the Deputy came upon what looked like a minor two vehicle collision in the Northbound lanes of Highway 86. It turns out one of the vehicles was burning. The body cam shows the deputy evacuating the passengers of the vehicle. The driver was trapped and the deputy had to cut through the seatbelts to free the driver. A young child was removed from the rear of the vehicle. An injured female was trapped in the rear of the vehicle, and was dragged from the vehicle to safety. The deputy attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher from the patrol unit, but the fire was too much for the extinguisher. The ICSO never named the deputy, but said the deputy's quick thinking, unwavering courage and selfless act of heroism helped save the lives of the occupants of the vehicle.. The Sheriff's office thanked AMR Ambulance, Cal Fire from Riverside County, and the California Highway Patrol for their quick response and assistance in the incident. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
