(The Imperial Irrigation District attributes their preparedness for their quick responce)...The storm began moving in Friday, with the bulk hitting on Sunday.

Friday night strong winds blew down 45 poles on a major transmission line near Thermal. 3,000 customers lost power, but IID crews were able to quickly restore power to all but 39 customers. Over-all, 11,400 customers reported power outages through Sunday. By Monday afternoon, all but approximately 85 had their power restored. The Imperial Irrigation District estimates all power will be restored within the next couple days. In the water Department, crews prepared by lowering all main canals and individual laterals to prevent serious runoff from the storm. While several washouts were reported along the westbank of the Westside Main Canal and a 24 inch drain pipe collapsed, the district anticipates having the repairs comp-leted by some time today, Tuesday.
