(Excessive heat will diminish in Imperial County)....It will start cooling down Friday.

The National Weather Service says it will be significantly cooler over the weekend. They say it could be wetter, as well. The Weather Service says Hurricane Hilary is traveling up the coast of Baja Californina. They expect the remnants from the Hurricane to bring significant rain to the area. The current forecast is for a 20 percent chance of rain Friday night. The rain chances increase to 70 percent on Saturday, and up to 90% Saturday night. The rain is expected to continue, with 80 percent chance of rain on Sunday. The wet weather could linger in the middle of next week. With the rain comes gusty winds, and a good chance of significant flash flooding. There are predictions that Imperial County get receive 5-7 inches of rain over the weekend. Temperatures are forecast to be below normal.
