(Median improvements on Adams Avenue in El Centro).....Cal Trans started the project earlier this week.

It is part of the state's Clean California program. Clean California is a $1.1 billion, multi year clean-up effort initiated by Governor Gavin Newsom. El Centro Mayor Martha Cardenas Singh says the current project will enhance what the city has already done on Adams Avenue. The Mayor says El Centro has invested millions into the Adams parks area, with Sidewinder Skatepark, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Sports Pavilion and the Aquatic Center. She said the median improvements will enhance the area even more. The Cal Trans project will see new concrete curbs, rockscapes and drought resistant plants all along Adams Avenue, from Imperial Avenue to Main Street, including the bend between Third and Fourth Streets. Improvements will also include the medians along Imperial Avenue, from El Dorado Avenue to Bradshaw Avenue and Adams Avenue to the Railroad Tracks. Work is being done at night to protect crews from the heat and minimize traffic disruption.
