(A 458 acre brush fire near Tecate, Mexico.)....Cal Fire Officials say the fire has not moved north of the border, yet.

Cal Fire says they received a report the Brush Fire was spreading. They say at last report, the fire was about 300 yards south of the border at Tecate Peak. A crew aboard a Cal Fire helicopter fitted with infrared cameras determined the fire was definately a threat to cross the border into east San Diego County. At last report Wednesday evening, the fire was still in Mexico. Cal Fire says they are monitoring the fire and they will be ready if the blaze does cross the border. Airplanes and helicopters have already dropped fire retardent on the US side of the border in case the fire continues to move north. Smoke from the Tecate fire has been blown into Imperial County for the past week.
