(Rabbit Fire has been burning since last Friday)...The fire is in the Moreno Valley of Riverside County.

At the last report Wednesday morning, the wildfire had burned 8,283 acres. Officials say the fire is now 55% contained. There are currently 1,578 personnel on scene, including a Strike Team From Imperial County. Yuma Fire Department is part of that team. Officials say containment lines are in place, and the fire continues to smolder in heavy brush. There are a few road closures, but others have been reopened. Suppression efforts are being hampered by extreme heat, steep terrain and difficult access. Hazards remain for critical infrastructure, radio repeater towers, and natural gas and petrolium pipelines.
