(Ceremony was held Wednesday morning at the IV Desert Museum)....US Citizenship and Immigration Services held the ceremony.

Citizenship Certificates were presented to 20 children. The USCIS Western Regional Director John J. Daly administered the Oath of Allegiance and offered congratulatory remarks. Other speakers included the Executive Director of the Imperial Valley Desert Museum Kristen O'Lear and USCIS Imperial Valley Field Office Director Patrick Lujan. The 20 children ranged in ages 1 to 18. All came from Mexico and all derived their citizenship through their parents. Special ceremonies are periodically held to recognize and celebrate the Naturalization of immigrants who have derived citizenship through their naturalized parents or adoption. These ceremonies are notably held at museums, schools, libraries and other notable locations to celebrate the conclusion of an immigrant's journey to citizenship and honor the commitment they have shown.
