Officials at Centinela State Prison are investigating the death of an incarcerated person as a homicide.

According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, on Tuesday, June 27, at about 10:30 a.m., prison staff responded when an incarcerated person, Antonio Harris, was stabbed multiple times, allegedly by another incarcerated person, Taylor Faatai. Harris succumbed from his wounds. Harris, 30, was admitted from Riverside County in July of 2017. He was sentenced to 15 years, 4 months for first-degree burglary. Faatai, 25, ws admitted from Los Angeles County in April of 2022. He was sentenced to 50 years to life for first-degree murder. The attack remains under investigation.
