The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has allocated more than $11 million for Imperial County projects.

Nearly $8 million is to go to improving transportation infrastructure and an additional $3.3 for future projects in the county.

Among the projects that the CTC has approved include:

$520,000  to Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC) and the City of El Centro for the Commercial Avenue Project for rehabilitation of existing asphalt. 

$327,000 to the ICTC and the City of Brawley for Brawley Road improvements that include asphalt rehabilitation and overlay, sidewalks and ADA ramps. 

$800,000 to ICTC and Imperial County for the Even Hewes Highway Rehabilitation from Haskell Road to Bennett Road.

$51,000 to ICTC and the City of Westmorland for South Center Street Pedestrian/Drainage Improvement Project.

$1.1 million to ICTC and the City of El Centro for East Main Street/Even Hewes Highway rehabilitation from Dogwood Road t the east City Limits.

$1 million to ICTC and the City of El Centro for Even Hewes Highway rehabilitation from the eastern City Limits of El Centro to Highway 111. 

$7,000 to ICTC and the City of Holtville for pedestrian and bicycle improvements on 9th Street between Melon Road and Olive Avenue.

$3.2 million in supplemental emergency funding to Imperial County to dispose of rock and debris, repair or replace guardrail, repair pavement, scale rocks and repair erosion damage from Tropical Storm Kay.

$510,000 to ICTC to construct sidewalks, ADA ramps, curb, and gutter on Heffernan Avenue in Heber from 14th Street to 10th Street.
