Imperial County Sheriff's Office deputies on patrol arrested a pair of convicted felons and recovered a ghost gun.

Wednesday afternoon at about 3:00 p.m., deputies on patrol noticed two suspicious subjects driving around the outskirts of Imperial. The pair were seen entering a convenience store on East 15th Street in Imperial. Deputies noticed that one of the subjects entered the store with a bag but left the store without the bag. A traffic stop was made on the vehicle and deputies located drugs and ballistic body armor in the vehicle. A trip back to the convenience store located the bag seen earlier. Inside the bag was a loaded Sig Suer P226 handgun with a round in the chamber. The handgun was described as a ghost gun since it did not have a serial number. The two suspects, both convicted felons, were arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail.
