A Thursday night traffic accident resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian.

The accident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. at 5th and Aurora in El Centro when pick-up truck struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center and was expected to be transferred to an out of valley trauma center. The driver of the pick-up was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
