There are several events happening in May at the Imperial Valley Pioneers Museum.

On Tuesday, May 16, the Pioneers' Book Club is reading and discussing Louie, Take a Look at This! by Luis Fuerte, a five time Emmy Award-winning cameraman. Fuerte will share stories of his adventures with Huell Howser, California's favorite tour guide. Fuerte will appear at 6:00 p.m. to discuss more.

On Thursday, May 18, it's a Thirsty Third Thursday event that features historians and preservationists sharing more about the past, present, and future of the former military base north of Niland that is now known as Slab City. The cost is $10.00 and proceeds benefit the digitization fund and Slab City Historical Marker fund.

The Friday Night Lecture on May 26 will feature Bill Gay, a docent at the U.S. Midway Museum in San Diego. Gay will share more information about the San Diego Museum.
