The Calexico native is being honored by the Calexico Arts Council. The recognition will be Saturday at the Carmen Durazo Cultural Arts Center from 2 pm to 4 pm. Flores will speak on the inspiration for his murder mystery novel. The novel, Shadow Of The Sun centers on the sacrifices of Vietnam Veterans and an account of growing up in a small desert community during the 1960's
