(Earthquake swarm began around April 27).....It began in the Southern Imperial County.

The swarm continues and now includes the North-end as well. The swarm has mostly been micro quakes, but the seismic activity has picked up and included minor to moderate quakes as well. Several quakes were reported Saturday. A magnitude 4.1 was reported at 5:07 Saturday morning followed two minutes later by a magnitude 3.4 in the same area. A 3.0 was recorded at 7:58 in Heber. Also in Heber there was a magnitude 3.7 at just after 2 in the afternoon and a 3.0 at 9:39 pm. At 10:55 pm a magnitude 3.2 was recorded in Ocotillo Wells and a 3.1 hit near Heber at 11:39 Saturday night. At just after mid-night Sunday morning two quakes were recorded between Calipatria and Niland. At 12:09 a magnitude 3.7 was recorded followed a minute later by a 4.0. Other than several rattled nerves, no damage of injuries have been reported. The numbers were provided by the US Geological Survey.
