The Imperial County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in a shooting incident involving a Calipatria School District bus.

On Wednesday, Imperial County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Brawley Police Department at about 11:00 a.m. in reference to a man shooting at a Calipatria school bus. On Tuesday afternoon, the bus driver had gone to the Brawley Police Department to file a report of the incident that happened in the area of Highway 111 and Andre Road in the County. An investigation led to evidence that identified a man and a woman having been involved, as well as 2 vehicles of interest. The man was later identified as 53-year-old Brannon Carlyle, a resident of Lakeside, California. At about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, Carlyle was located in the Brawley Walmart store. An RV driven by Carlyle at the time of the incident was located in the store parking lot. Carlyle was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail for Domestic Violence with Injuries, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Involving a Firearm, Child Endangerment, and Shooting at An Occupied Vehicle. The woman was released without charges. There were no injuries involved in the incident, but the Calipatria High School Softball Team was brought back to Calipatria and their game with Imperial was forfeited because of the incident.
