(COVID 19 update).....COVID cases are up one week, then down the next.

The latest report indicates the numbers are back up. COVID numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. The latest numbers were released Tuesday. They indicate the number of active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County are at 208. That is up from the 169 cases reported last week. There is another death attributed to the virus. The number of fatalities attributed to COVID 19 are now at 972. The COVID 19 Tier Metrics for Imperial County indicate new cases per day per 100,000 population are now at 9.90, with a positivity rate of 10%. A few weeks ago the Governor of California had said he would declare an end to the COVID emergency on February 28. If that happened, it was not announced publicly. The latest indication the emergency is winding down is the announcement that the last day for the COVID 19 Mobile Testing Service in the Imperial Vally is March 3rd.
