(County Supervisors propose a feasability Study)...It would be to determine the specifics for a Countywide Healthcare District.

Taken as an emergency item at their meeting this week, the Board of Supervisors agreed to fund half the cost for the study. They estimate that to be $200,000. The remaining cost would be expected to be divided between the 3 local healthcare districts for reimbursement to the County at a later date. At a recent Roundtable meeting, it was agreed a Large County wide Healthcare District was a good idea. They could not agree on how such a Healthcare District would be put together and other specifics. The feasability study proposal would probably have to be approved by the individual Healthcare Districts, ECRMC, PMHD and Heffernan Memorial.
