El Centro Police were busy with chicken calls on Tuesday.

At about 11:25 a.m., police were notified that there were 4 chickens walking in the street in the area of Waterman and Cruikshank Streets. Officers contacted a woman that was nearby and it was determined that they were her chickens. The birds were moved out of the road and the woman was issued a citation for an unrelated parking violation.

About an hour later El Centro police responded to the area of 12th and Main after receiving a report of a rooster walking around on the sidewalk. The rooster was gone by the time officers arrived. The two incidents do not appear to be related.
