A suspect is in custody following a vehicle pursuit at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

El Centro police responded to the area of 4th and Euclid after an automated License Plate Reader (LPR) showed a grey Ford F-150 pick-up in the area. The truck was located at 6th and Euclid and then proceeded westbound. The pursuit ended when the driver abandoned the truck, fled on foot, and then climbed up on the roof of a nearby building. El Centro Fire Department responded to the scene and provided officers with a ladder. Officers were able to communicate with the suspect and he decided to climb down off the roof. The truck reportedly lost the rear bumper during the pursuit and a woman reported her car was damaged by the pick-up during the chase. The suspect, a 37-year-old El Centro man, was arrested and booked at Imperial County Jail for Possession of Stolen Property. The truck, minus a rear bumper, radio and speakers, was returned to the owner.
