(Child suffers fatal injuries)…It happened last week.

A two vehicle collision was reported near the Border Patrol Checkpoint on Highway 86. A vehicle driven by a male collided with a vehicle driven by a woman with her two children. Border Patrol agents responded to the collision. The agents manually righted the overturned vehicle driven by the woman. They began assisting the passengers, but noticed one of the children, a ten year old had significant traumatic injuries and needed CPR. The agents called for emergency assistance and began performing CPR on the child. EMT arrived about 45 minutes later and transported to child to a hospital where he succumbed to the injuries. The male driver was arrested for drunk driving. Officials say all other injuries were minor. None of the participants were identified.
