(A new traveling exhibit at the IV Desert Museum)…It is Seaweed, Salmon, and Manzanita Cider; A California Indian Feast.
The Museum is partnering with the Manzanita Band of the Kumeyaay Nation to host the exhibit. The new statewide traveling exhibition from Grace Hudson Museum and Exhibit Envoy will be the Museum’s largest traveling exhibit to date, and the first exhibit of its kind in Imperial County in over 30 years. The Exhibit, which opens this Saturday, August 16th and runs through Saturday October 11, features traditional foods important in the lives of Native Californians, including fish, shellfish, meat, fruits and acorns. The exhibit opening celebration will be from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Saturday and is free to the public Thanks to event sponsors Imperial Valley Aggregate and Gibson and Schaefer Incorporated.
