(Mexicali man suffers major injuries in hit and run)….The California Highway Patrol would like to speak with any witnesses.
It was reported at 7:33 Tuesday evening. The CHP says 40 year old Urias M. Lorenzo was riding a bicycle on the North bound shoulder of Highway 7, north of Hunt Road. A North bound vehicle ran into the back of the bicycle, ejecting the rider. The Highway Patrol says Lorenzo was thrown over the concrete barrier. The man landed on the dirt shoulder below on eastbound Interstate 8. The vehicle fled the scene. The CHP says someone took the bicycle before the Highway Patrol arrived at the scene. Lorenzo suffered head trauma and a broken femur. He was flown to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. His condition is not known. The CHP says anyone who witnessed the incident should contact the California Highway Patrol.
