(House Fire)…It was reported in Yuma Tuesday morning.

The call came in at 10:30 am. The fire was reported in the 1700 block of South 29th Drive. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the house. It was determined it was an interior fire. Firefighters were met with heavy flames and very low visibility when they tried to enter the house.. There was a partial roof collapse, but did not result in any injuries. After an aggressive attack, the fire was finally extinguished. Fire crews remained on the scene for several hours to monitor hot spots and possible flare-ups. The house received severe damage and will not be reoccupied until extensive repairs are complete. The fire was contained to the single residence, and no other property was damaged. There were 8 dogs in the residence. One needed emergency treatment and was given oxygen. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Arson is not suspected at this time.
