(Productive two days of Trade Mission)….Governor Brown left on the Trade and Investment Mission Sunday.
The trip to Mexico City included the Governor and a delegation of about 100. State Senator Ben Hueso, representative for parts of San Diego and all of Imperial County, is part of the delegation. On Monday the Governor was able to sign a comprehensive climate change pact with Mexican officials. Tuesday the Governor announced an agreement with Mexico’s Secretary of Energy to foster cross-border renewable energy investments. The Governor has also met with members of the Mexican Senate to discuss immigration issues. There was also an unannounced meeting. Brown was able to meet with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto. Brown says the President accepted his invitation to visit California to discuss the agreements reached during the Trade Mission. The Delegation is expected to return to the United States Thursday.
