Freedom Fest. Fun for the entire family

(It is going to be an Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration)…The 24th Annual Freedom Fest will be held on the Campus of Imperial Valley College.

The Desert Cruisers Car Club is returning with several games and competitions. There will be Apple Bobbing, Watermelon Eating, Hula Hoop and Bubble Gum Blowing contests for the kids. There will be no charge to enter the contests and Desert Cruisers will provide prizes to the winners, while supplies last. Home Depot will sponsor the children’s workshop activities. On the east side of the campus the IVC Child Care Playground and Preschool area will be open from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It will feature indoor and outdoor activities for kids 2-7 years old. There will be a $2.00 charge for admission, and parents must accompany their children. Static displays will include a REACH Helicopter, and various law enforcement displays. The Sheriff’s Explorers will host a Dunk Tank. NAF El Centro display will be under a chalet. There will be every kind of Concession and Merchandise booths and a lot more. The theme of this year’s Freedom Fest is This Is My Country. FM 107.5 is once again producing and underwriting the fireworks show, synchronized to music on FM 107.5. The Fireworks Show begins at 9:30 Friday night. Gates open at the IVC Campus at 6:00 pm.
