(Takata does not get the job)….The Calexico Mayor Bill Hodge had recommended Andrew Takata to become interim City Manager.
Tuesday the Council was to have rarified a contract that would have paid Takata around $100,000 for a six-month contract. The former Banning City Manager was to replace Oscar Rodriguez, who retired May 23rd. Wednesday night the council could not come to an agreement on a contract for Takata. Following the closed session, it was announced the City Council would continue to look for an interim City Manager. They have not said if the search for a permanent City Manager has begun or not .
