(Election Day in California)…Statewide it is a primary election.
For some of the local races, it is almost assured there will be a run-off election in November. Most of the races, however, will be decided tonight. It has been predicted there will be a low voter turnout. At 12:00 noon, the Registrar of Voters said the morning turnout was about normal for a primary election. Debra Porter said, however, the heaviest voting period was the after 5:00 voters. Those getting off work. Porter said it was hoped the Vote by Mail voters would be turning their ballots into to polling places before the polls close at 8:00 pm. She said only a little more than 50 % of the Vote by Mail ballots had been received before Election Day.
