(Bernardo Fire more than 25% contained)….Cal Fire is confident they will soon have the fire under control.
Calm winds over night allowed firefighters to gain on the blaze that was started Tuesday mid-morning east of Rancho Bernardo. Evacuations have been lifted. In a statement Wednesday morning, Cal Fire officials say their focus and worry now is on the next fire. It has been predicted the fire season this year will be a harsh one, especially in the Canyons and Mountains of San Diego County. Imperial County Fire Chief Tony Rouhotas said Tuesday Fire Officials in San Diego and Imperial Counties have met to discuss rapid responses and quick assistance in what could be a challenging fire season. Predicted high temperatures, low humidity and dry brush have created a red flag warning for Imperial and San Diego Counties.
