Sunday's victim identified

(Victim officially identified)….32 year old Tommy Ray Yancy died Sunday following a scuffle with Law Enforcement.

Sources say the California Highway Patrol stopped the Chrysler 300 being driven by Yancy because of expired tags. The CHP pulled over the vehicle at 15th Street and Imperial Avenue in Imperial. The CHP says the 32 year old was extremely combative and took a swing at the officer. The officer responded by turning his canine lose on the man. The dog reportedly bit Yancy, who grabbed the animal and began choking and punching the dog. Officer tased Yancy to get him to release the dog. Once he did, the scuffle continued. Once Yancy was on the ground and handcuffed, the CHP says he became unresponsive. CPR was performed until paramedics arrived and transported Yancy to El Centro Regional Medical Center, where he died an hour after arrival. Yancy was an army veteran of the Afghanistan conflict. Sources say he suffered from Post Traumatic Syndrome. He was the father of two.
