(A very solemn event Friday)…It was the Annual Imperial Valley Law Enforcement Memorial.
A crowd gathered at the steps of the County Courthouse to remember and honor the 39 law enforcement officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice locally since 1920. 39 American flags remained on the grass at the courthouse over the weekend. Each had plaques of each officer who died in the line of duty. The Law Enforcement Memorial for the entire state has also been held in Sacramento. A march was held Sunday and the Governor participated in the State Memorial Monday morning. During the state ceremonies 13 new names were added to the state list. Those new names were of officers killed around the state in the past year.
