Supervisors to adopt new minimum wage

(County to officially adopt minimum wage)…The state legislature approved the increase in two parts.

Tuesday the County Board of Supervisors will be asked to adopt the new California Minimum Hourly Wage Rate of $9.00 per hour effective July 1, 2014. The Board will also direct Human Resources to amend the current Classification and Salary Administration Plan. According to state legislation, the minimum wage will go up to $10.00 per hour next year. The Supervisors will also award the contract for bridge replacement services at English Road and Old Niland Road at the Z Drain bridge. And the Chief Probation officer will seek approval to hire two new Juvenile officers. The Board convenes their weekly meeting at 8:30 Tuesday morning.
