(Annual Farm Bureau Scholarship Barbecue)….It will be held Friday from 5-7 pm at Ryerson Hall.
Proceeds from the event go towards local scholarships. Since 2001, the Imperial County Farm Bureau has distributed more than $200,000 in scholarships to local students. They say the program has grown over the years, with last year’s scholarships totaling more than $27,000 drawn from 5 different scholarship funds and distributed to 27 local students. Scholarship applications are available at the Farm Bureau office on Broadway in El Centro or online at icfb.net and must be submitted by April 30th. The program is open to local students who will be attending college this fall and are studying towards an agricultural-related career goal. Contact the local Farm Bureau for scholarship information or to purchase tickets to Friday’s Barbecue fundraiser.
