(Teen runs into a moving vehicle)…At last report, the Highway Patrol was still trying to identify the teen.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning in Heber. The CHP says 55-year-old Maria Gonzalez was driving a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder east on Correll Road, approaching the intersection with Heber Avenue. The teen was running, southbound. The Highway Patrol says he ran into the intersection, directly into the path of the Nissan. The Highway Patrol says Gonzalez was unable to take evasive action. The boy was struck by the left front fender of the vehicle and was hurled into the intersection. He suffered what was described as major injuries. The unidentified teen was air lifted by Reach Air Ambulance to Desert Regional in Palm Springs. The collision remains under investigation and at last report the Highway Patrol was asking anyone who knows the teen to come forward for he can be identified.
