Ex-felon uses a fake name to sneak drugs into prison

(Woman tries to sneak heroin to an inmate)…The 61 year old had gone to the Calipatria State Prison Easter Sunday.

She went to visit convicted murderer Norman Claude Hix. Staff became suspicious after they saw the woman stuff several items into a bag of Doritos as she sat alone at a table. Prison personnel searched the bag and found 10 individually wrapped bindles of Heroin. The bindles weighed 15 grams, with an estimated street value of $3,750. That is not all. It turns out the woman was not who she said she was. She had registered for the visit as Ruth Cortez. It turns out the California Driver’s license she used was false. The woman’s real name is Rosie M. Heraz, and ex-felon. Officials say a continued search gathered enough evidence to connect Hix to the crime. He was placed in administrative segregation. The woman was booked into county jail.
