(Emilio Samyn Gonzalez Arenazas sentenced)…He was convicted in the ambush murder of Robert Rosas.
Rosas, a Border Patrol agent, native of Imperial County, was shot to death in an ambush near Campo on July 23rd 2009. Four of the five suspects in the murder were arrested. Gonzalez Arenazas was the last of the four in custody to be sentenced. He received a 40-year sentence last Thursday in a San Diego Federal Court. Officials say the fifth suspect, Jose Juan Chacon Morales, remains at large. There is a $100,000 reward being offered for the suspect’s arrest. Some, however, believe Chacon Morales died sometime ago in Mexico.
