(APCD going after Carl Moyer Funding)….This is the 16th year they participate in the Carl Moyer Program.
This year the Imperial County Air Pollution District will pursue $319,237. Along with a $47,886 match from DMV funds, the District will use the funds to continue to refurbish or replace diesel engines. The engines are out of compliance with air quality standards. APCD Officer Brad Poiriez told the Board of Supervisors that they are focusing on diesel engines in the Agriculture industry, such as tractors and trucks. He said his department is currently taking applications. Poiriez said they will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, and will be accepted as long as the funding holds out.
