(Another border tunnel found)….This one was discovered in Mexicali. The Tunnel is either abandoned or not finished. Mexicali police say they received an anonymous call, indicating a smugglers tunnel could be found at a house on Madero Avenue. Officers found the tunnel. It is 77 feet long and leads about half way under Avenida Colon, which runs along the international border. Mexicali police alerted authorities in the US, saying usually a drug tunnel constructed on one side of the border, means another is being constructed on the other side. Officials suspect the tunnel was being constructed as a multi use tunnel, one in which drugs and people would be smuggled into the United States, and illegal money and possibly weapons would be smuggled into Mexico. No suspects have been arrested.
