(Two injured in house fire)….The two got out safely, but went back in.

The fire was reported on West 28th Place in Yuma at just after 2:00 pm Tuesday. When fire crews arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the garage. Two passenger vehicles were fully engulfed, as was the attached garage and surrounding grass in front of the house. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames and extinguish the fire. Both vehicles were completely destroyed, with heavy damage to the garage. The interior of the home suffered serious heat and smoke damage. The house was occupied by two grandparents, a father and his 11 year old son. The family had been alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm. Everybody got out safely, but the two men went back to try and salvage some of their possessions. They tried to remove one of the vehicles. Both men suffered exposure to the smoke and were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for treatment. Fire officials are reminding residents that once you get out of a fire, never go back in. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
