(Over $200,000 worth of narcotics seized)…The seizures were the result of three smuggling attempts. All 3 were reported over the weekend in Calexico. On Sunday, a 41-year-old Mexicali man was arrested after he was found with illegal weapons and Heroin valued at $26,000. Later that day a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, both U.S. Citizens, were arrested after they attempted to smuggle 80 pounds of marijuana concealed in the pick-up they were driving. On Saturday, a 43-year-old Mexican National was arrested after 138 pounds of marijuana was found in his vehicle. The marijuana was valued at $125,240. The drugs and weapons were seized and the suspects arrested. The CBP says immigration holds were placed on the Mexican Nationals to initiate possible removal from the United States at the conclusion of their criminal proceedings.
