(New Years Maximum Enforcement)…The California Highway Patrol goes into its Holiday Maximum Enforcement at 6:00 pm.

Maximum Enforcement is when as many officers as possible will be assigned to patrol state highways. The Maximum Enforcement will remain in effect until mid-night Sunday. The CHP will be especially vigilant for suspected drunk drivers. The Highway Patrol says officers from the Winterhaven Station will be setting a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint tonight. They are only saying exactly where, but the checkpoint will be set-up in an unincorporated area of Imperial County.
