(Slippery roadway cause traffic problems)…Several traffic accidents reported in east San Diego Mountains.

The California Highway Patrol in that area say slippery, icy roads were to blame. The accidents were reported overnight and early in the morning. The CHP says a pick-up slid off westbound Interstate 8, west of Jacumba, at around 4:40 Wednesday morning. The driver was injured, but the extent of those injuries was not revealed. The Highway Patrol says the cause was an icy roadway. At 5:50 in the morning the CHP says a truck overturned on westbound I-8, west of Sunrise Highway. Injuries were reported in that incident, as well. Traffic incidents were reported in the Pine Valley throughout the night.
