(Santa is making at least a couple personal appearances this weekend)…Christmas festivities started a week ago in Imperial County.

This weekend they begin in Imperial. Friday night the Imperial Chamber of Commerce will host their Annual Parade of Lights. The Parade will start promptly at 6:00 pm. Saturday the Chamber will host the Annual Christmas in a Small Town. The event will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Santa Claus is expected to make an appearance. He will also be in Calexico Saturday. The Border City Christmas Parade begins at 10:00 am. Participants are asked to form at 8:30 Saturday morning. The staging area is on Second Street, between Mary and Giles Avenue. The Parade route will travel West on 2nd Street to Paulin Avenue. It will go North on Paulin to 4th Street, East on 4th to Heber Avenue to 7th Street and over to Mary. The Parade will disband at Mary at Rockwood Park. Parade goers at both events may want to take blankets and wear jackets. Meteorologist Jim Christopherson is predicting overcast skies and cool temperatures Friday night and Saturday.
