Strip Mall fire in Niland

(No injuries in Niland Fire)…The Fire was reported at around 7:30 Wednesday night. Engines from Niland, County, Calipatria, Calipatria Prison and Brawley responded to the fire at a Strip Mall on the North side of Niland. Officials say the Mall houses a restaurant, the Post Office and three other businesses. The Post Office suffered some smoke damage, as did the restaurant. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported. The businesses at the Strip Mall apparently shared an attic, and all were damaged. The extent of the damage has not been released.
