(Supervisor one short, again)…This time, however, it was District four who was missing. Louis Fuentes was sworn in at 8:00 Tuesday morning. For the first time in four months, District One, mostly Calexico, was represented on the Board of Supervisors. The ceremonies carried on until almost 9:00, and the Board meeting began late. Fuentes was recently appointed by the Governor to fill the vacancy left by Victor Carrillo, who resigned to become the City Manager for the City of Calexico. Fuentes had to resign as a Calexico City Councilman before he could be sworn in as a County Supervisor. He will serve out the term for District One, which ends December 31, 2010. Fuentes has said he plans to run for election to the Board of Supervisors June 3, 2010. District Four Supervisor Gary Wyatt did not attend this weeks meeting. The next opportunity for the full five member Board to meet with be November 24. The Board is dark next week.
