Imperial Valley Continues To Shake, Shake, Shake PDF Print E-mail

Earthquakes of  a magnitude 4.1 , 3.2 and 3.1 have followed two minor earthqaukes that occurred last night and this morning. The strongest , so far , has been a 4.1 shaker that occurred at 11:27 Tuesday morning. It is part of a swarm of over 30 quakes that have been centered near Heber in Imperial County, California. Most of the earthquakes have measured anywhere from 1.2 to 2.8 on the Richter Scale according to The United States Geological Survey's website. After the 4.1 shaker the strongest jolts have been from a 3.2 at 12:18 p.m. and a 3.1 at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Swarms of small earthquakes are not uncommon in Imperial County , California and near Mexiucali in adjacent Baja California , Mexico. There have been no reports of injuries or damage from the minor temblors.
